Redesigning My Blog

If you had popped by for the last couple of hours, you would have seen this blog changed many times before you.

It's always fun designing the blog. I actually tried tumblr, but its mobile app was so barren in functions, it was impossible to use. So I return to Blogger.

Just overheard on facebook a young person giving feedback to an old person, advising him that blogs are passe, and he should use facebook to connect to his desired audience.

I don't know about that. I have been operating in the craft scene, specifically the US side of it, and blog is a big thing. You mean it's over?

An author recommending tumblr in his book also said Blogger is behind its game in terms of hosting.

But after going one big round, I think Blogger suits me best at this moment. The freehand allowed in designing the site is liberating! This contrasts with wordpress's very limiting capabilities. Bloggers has also upgraded its dashboard lately and it looks rather spiffy from my side now.

I am not trying to diss any site. I believe it's about finding your own best fit. Let me just hang out here for a while and see how it goes.

It's fun designing the layout for the blog. Reminds me of the time I did it for my Inagaki's Shop site. All the html coding, once you stop using it, you lose it all over again. I remember I made so many headers for that blog. But eventually settled for a very simple no frills one.

This time, it's almost the same. I have been following Sally Shim's blog for a long time. When I began, I sometimes felt underwhelmed by the abundant spaces in her designs. Gradually, I begin to find myself gravitating to such designs too.

But mainly, for me, it's due to my lack of training or ideas. Sometimes I imagine very cute designs but realise I could not draw anything, so I settle for simple ones.

So far, I am quite enjoying myself here. Let's hope it's a good place to stay...
