I took some pics on one of those days when the house is extra messy. The messier it is, the more motivated I am to start tidying. These were all on the same day.
CSI says the kids were reading the night before, searched their drawers for uniforms in the morning, toys from last night. Erm, I could have been reading too, the night before.

Ah, when it is tidy and clean, floor mopped, the children will enjoy using the room.

It's mainly just picking things from the floor, put them back to their places, and cleaning the shelves and floor.
So the cycle continues day in day out. Sometimes I enjoy the mess because it says someone lives here. While I am happy that I cannot stand a messy and dirty house and am motivated to clean when it gets out of hand, I also try not to love cleanliness too much. It's a lot of repetitious effort to keep the house in perfect order day in day out. If not careful, I could spend my life doing just that.
So each time when I wanted to do my online work like listing my fabric, I have to take pictures. As some fabric panels are big, I want to spread them out on the floor. Thus if the floor is not clean, it's super uncomfortable to do that. So in order for me to get to my online work, I have to pick things up, tidy, sweep and mop floor, take pictures, edit pics, THEN post.
Know why my stock is weeping in neglect inside my cupboard? When o when, will my babies see the daylight? OH WHEN?

Well yesterday I was that dog and it was my day.

It was like striking lottery. I am afraid someone might beat me up for saying this, but it is almost by no effort of mine.
There is a feature called Treasury on etsy, whereby members choose different products and put them together. They call this curate, much like the work of a curator who chooses things to display for a musuem. Arty farty. A person named Laura made the above treasury with my kitchen fabric in it. And etsy admin chose to feature it on the front page yesterday.
Made my day. Felt like a one day star.
Oh, thank you lucky star. Could this have something to do with touching the laughing Buddha a week ago?
So my shop hits hit the roof yesterday. So lucky.
But just for a day..haha. What was good was many people came to the shop and favourited the shop or its listings. So when I make new listings, probably it will reach more people.
What does it mean? Keep working! :) Keep a positive attitude and keep working. One day, someone will notice. Then all the hard work that you put in when you were a nobody will pay back.

真的，如果生意是每两天像这样源源不断，就很发的。以前卖肥皂也有这样的体会。你不要以为只有那些排长龙的店才好赚。那些店一单，两单，但细水长流，源源不断，才肥呢。
只不过我是每个月几单而已，哈哈，不算炫耀吧。

I chanced upon a local handmade site which sells handmade products using fabric and accessories that are in tune with those sold in my shop.
I wrote a mail to the Missy and informed her that I sell such and such items and that these may be of interest to her, and gave her my etsy address.
In the past, due to being bugged by countless sales people who tried to sell me things from vacuum cleaners, insurance policies, yakult drinks, keropok, etc etc etc, the idea of a forthcoming salesperson left a very very bad impression. Even though I started working as a sales executive with a Korean trading company, I felt timid and shy to approach people in trying to sell my wares.
But I understand now. It's about finding the right customers. People who use your products will actually LIKE you to approach them and present your wares. This saves them sourcing time. And after being in business, I can tell you, procuring (even though abit like shopping) can be quite a chore too. Especially if you are running a handmade business and you have about only a billion other things to attend to.
So yeah, I know my place in this trade. Sourcing with my eye for beauty. That really is quite the job of a retailer. On top of that, not bombarding your customers with too much choices too. Select for them.
So because I am confident of doing the above, I become not shy to pimp my business. I have found my foothold and understood my role in this whole business chain thingy, so there's nothing to be shy about anymore.
This is one of those good things about being old or experienced.
